And for about two weeks, I believed them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I tried to actually use<\/em> the thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Computer That Smiles While It Disappoints You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Apple Silicon Macs are incredible at the exact tasks Apple demos and increasingly hostile to everything else. They are the most passive-aggressive computers ever built. They don\u2019t crash loudly. They don\u2019t explode. They just\u2026 quietly make your life worse while insisting they\u2019re doing you a favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something runs slow?
Oh, it\u2019s because it\u2019s not optimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something doesn\u2019t run at all?
Well, that\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something behaves weirdly?
ARM is different<\/em>, you see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At no point does Apple accept responsibility. The platform is perfect. If you\u2019re having problems, you are the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Miss When My Computer Didn\u2019t Judge Me<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Intel Macs, if something broke, it was usually fixable. You could reason about it. Debug it. Virtualize it. Boot into something else. Escape the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple Silicon took that box, welded it shut, powder-coated it, and added a Touch ID sensor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now every solution starts with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Virtualization Situation Is Embarrassing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Let\u2019s be clear: Apple Silicon virtualization is bad. Not \u201cdifferent.\u201d Not \u201cemerging.\u201d Bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Apple keeps using the word \u201cPro\u201d like it hasn\u2019t completely changed the definition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A pro machine used to mean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • You could run weird, ugly, powerful software<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • You could recover from mistakes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • You could experiment without permission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Apple Silicon Pro machines mean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Incredible battery life<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Stunning hardware<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • And an invisible fence you slam into the moment you do something serious<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        It\u2019s not that the machine can\u2019t do hard things. It\u2019s that Apple doesn\u2019t want you<\/em> doing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The Cult Will Tell You This Is Fine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Say anything negative about Apple Silicon and watch the script roll in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • \u201cSounds like a skill issue\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • \u201cJust use a different tool\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • \u201cApple isn\u2019t targeting you anymore\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • \u201cBenchmarks don\u2019t lie\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Benchmarks lie all the time. People lie with benchmarks. Apple curates<\/em> benchmarks like a museum exhibit. And the cult eats it up because the fans don\u2019t spin and the battery lasts 18 hours while doing absolutely nothing challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          This Isn\u2019t the Future of Computing, It\u2019s the End of a Chapter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          Apple Silicon didn\u2019t make Macs better computers. It made them better products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          And that\u2019s the betrayal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The Mac used to be where you went if you wanted Unix with taste. Power with polish. Control without chaos. Now it\u2019s where you go if you want elite performance inside a velvet-lined cage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          You\u2019re not a user anymore. You\u2019re a tenant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The Worst Part? It Didn\u2019t Have to Be This Way<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          Apple could\u2019ve done ARM without burning bridges.
